The historic, rustic log, main lodge was built in 1920 by William Knickerbocker, the first Big Bear Lake Dam Keeper, as a private home for his family. It was converted to a Bed & Breakfast in the mid 1980’s, and now consists of four buildings on 2.5 acres. 11 guest rooms are located in two of the buildings, the main lodge and a separate converted carriage house. The Knickerbocker features nine standard bedrooms, each with private baths and queen beds and two large luxury suites with private baths, king beds, fireplaces and spa tubs. All rooms have TVs, VCRs, private telephones. A separate conference room building is available for private functions. The fourth building is the owners (innkeepers) private residence.
A four-season destination, the Inn features 12 guest rooms, all with private baths. Guests can enjoy open common areas, porches and decks, and much more.
The Bistro is open to the public for breakfast/brunch/lunch, Thursday – Sunday from 9 PM-2 PM. A selection of contemporary cuisine will make your visit to The Knickerbocker Mansion the highlight of your visit to Big Bear Lake. Our menu changes seasonally. Outside dining is available, weather permitting.
Known as a breathtaking Big Bear Lake wedding venue, the Knickerbocker is also the perfect place for a family reunion, anniversary party, business meetings or special private holiday events. Outdoor events can include up to 75 people and indoor events up to 40 people.
